Luggage & Soft Goods
Torq Hard-Sided Luggage
I served as an in-house industrial designer for Briggs & Riley, one of the two brands stewarded by US Luggage. As an ID at Briggs, I was in charge of an entire luggage collection with an approximate 1-year development cycle from project brief to production launch date. After a very successful 1st year there, I was tapped to take on the design and development of Briggs’ first-ever (to-market) polycarbonate luggage collection. I was responsible for the design and success of the entire collection, which included anywhere from 3 to 23 SKUs and all related components were always custom.
To this day I exclusively travel with Briggs luggage.

Other Soft Goods
Having grown up in a home where sewing, embroidery, and other creative endeavors were commonplace, looking back it comes as no surprise I have a deep-rooted love for soft goods. Being that I have a strong CAD and hard parts development background, I love to find the ways and spaces wherein soft and hard goods can work together to create amazing carry, protective, and fashion experiences for users.
I use sewing as another tool in my arsenal to help me prototype, test, and validate design concepts. I have experience developing new fabrics (including jacquard), and anything from small pouches to bagpipes, world-class, and award-winning luggage designs, and prototypes with functional soft & hard elements for testing.
Having experience sewing has given me a better understanding of how to communicate with suppliers and sample makers, and also get more realistic about cost estimations and production planning.
